Art Deco - Historical Essay








Introduction
Art Deco is mixed of artistic and design which was founded in Paris 1920s. It is an interesting theme and it has expanded throughout the international during World War II. It eventually connected all the aspects of style, influencing the appearance such as industrial design, visual arts and films. Also Art deco does understand the social, economic, political and its culture that helped shape and variant of the art movement into what it become.

Culture and Media
Art Deco has its own artistic, creative and spreading influences of design.  One of the example artists is David Ault who has made D.C posters with Art Deco style as the picture is shown.






Art Deco History


Art Deco is a combination artistic and design with multitude form. The term Art Deco was coined in 1968 when Interest in sophistication revived was obtained from Exposition Internationale Arts Décoratifs et Industriels Modernes.

“This history changing gathering was dedicated to the display of modern decorative arts. The exhibition brought together thousands of designs from all over Europe and beyond. With over 15 million visitors, it marked the high point of the first phase of Art Deco"

The meaning of this is that the Art deco was gathering the resources in order to display their own cultural of decorative arts. Throughout there it had become popular and eye catching. Modern art style has spread throughout the Europe and different region.


Architectural with Art Deco Movement

Daily Express Building
This is Daily Express Building, it is located Great Ancoata street, Manchester. This building has corners are curved and its inspiration from the 1930s modern movement. The design and its features have typical of Art deco Architectural style.  This photo was taken by a photographer ( Alan Howarth).





Chrysler Building



This Picture is a Chrysler Building which is an Art Deco style skyscraper in New York City. The building is constructed with a steel of frame and metal cladding with masonry. The corners of 61st floor are graced with 4 eagles which gives an insignia to the cultural. Chrysler Building contains 3,862 windows with its facade and 4 banks of 8 elevators designed by Otis Elevator Corportation.
Chrysler building is alluding and has its references.  For e.g. The Spider-man animated series (1994) some of the episode shows Chrysler as it grabs audience attention. It’s more of an eye catching where people to understand its language and concept.



Art Deco Sculpture
The Art Deco Sculpture is visual of arts that show three dimensions and originally used carving materials.  Art Deco continues to be more popular for sculptures and interior figurines. The purpose of it process is tend to display background theme, athleticism with stylized figures to draw on the Art Deco movement.


Angelique
It is a cold painted bronze figure of nude dancing with her shawl made by Josef Leorenzl from 1982 – 1950.  The theme does represent of an Art Deco antiques.


A Austrian sculptor Josef Leorenzl was born 1892 in Vienna one of the nine states of Austria. Later on he became one of the most famous sculptors in period of Art Deco. Also The Art Deco sculptor was working at foundry at the Vienna of Arsenal. Not only Josef was good art sculptor but also a talented ceramist. He has always pictured elegant poses and signed with his sculptures.


Conclusion
Overall we find Art Deco movement intriguing because the movement prominence which stands and surrounds the artistic and design. It has popularize around its media and commercial product by representing its image and cultural. This got me interested is that Art Deco has the art style with modernization and its elegance.

Art Deco

Introduction

Art Deco is a mixed for artistic and design  which was made in Paris in 1920s. This is an interesting theme and it has expanded throughout the international during world war II. The style influenced all  areas of design, including architecture, industrial design and visual arts such as graphic arts and film.

Key Movement Design

Art Deco was  an Artistic movement and lasted from the 1920s to 1940. It was founded in France with group of a  French people ( decorators, designers and artists). The Art Deco movement has expanded quickly spread from Europe to the United States, it remained until the mid 1939s.

United States







The US has multiple of examples of Art-Deco architecture and its structures. Chicago, New York and Miami have many great Art Deco buildings. The Miami , Florida, has enormous collection of art-deco buildings, with some apartment houses and hotels dating from the 1920s to 1940s.

Introduction

This is the Futurism mood board theme. This article really interesting it is about social movement and visualise artistic that was originated in  Italy 1909-1916. From that point Futurist has adapt many ways and it evolved it's concept of the future which including  technology, speed and objects such as car, air-plane and the industrial of the city.

The Futurist practised  in every way of  art such as graphic design , sculpture, interior design, film and theatre.

The Founder of the Futurism and written by Filippo Tommasso Marienetti. Filippo launched movement in his Futurist Manifesto which  he published.
